Aqua Expeditions Partners with Peru’s “Productive Youth” Program in Food Handling Training Program
Aqua Expeditions is proud to support the work of “Jóvenes a la Obra” (Productive Youth), a program of Peru’s Ministry of Labour and Employment Promotion providing youth ages 15-29 years old with access to the formal labor market through job training, technical assistance for entrepreneurship and job placement. The objective of this national program is to better prepare youth, especially from poorer rural and urban areas, with stronger skills so they can successfully find employment opportunities.
- Free job training
- Facilitates access to the labor market
- Supports youth entrepreneurship
- Develops capabilities for generating business in urban and rural areas
In July 2015, Aqua Expeditions welcomed 12 young people in our food and beverage preparation area in our commercial kitchen supporting our Amazon cruiseship operations. Youth were trained in different aspects of food handling such as portioning, treatment of perishables and adequate packaging of food products, as well as in operating different machines in the food production area.
Since 2011, Jóvenes a la Obra has trained over 83,000 youth and provided job certifications for over 21,000.
To all our Jóvenes a la Obra participants we say “BRAVO”!
